Niclas Fasth and Gary Murphy shot
even-par 70s Saturday to maintain their one-stroke lead at the
Mallorca Classic.
Fasth and Murphy, at 3-under 207 overall, have shared the lead
since the first round. Peter O'Malley (68) trails by one stroke, and
Peter Hanson (68) and Marc Warren (71) are two behind.
Sergio Garcia shot his third consecutive 70 and trails by three
strokes with Steven Jeppesen (69).
``There were a lot of good shots but unfortunately a couple of
bad ones and I couldn't really get anything going,'' Garcia said.
``I have a chance tomorrow and if it's windy an under par score
might do it and if not I'll need to shoot a 65.''
The top 60 on the money list after the Mallorca Classic qualify
for the Volvo Masters. The top 118 retain their playing cards for
next year.
Murphy is currently 118th and would clinch a two-year tour
exemption with the title.
``I'm pretty happy although I left a couple of shots out there,''
Murphy said. ``I'm a bit surprised to still be leading as the
conditions were a lot better, but it's so easy to drop silly shots
out there and that's what I was trying to avoid doing.''
