Jim Furyk shot a 4-under 68 on
Saturday to take a three-shot lead into the final round of the
Nedbank Challenge.
Through three rounds, Furyk is at 14-under 202, three shots ahead
of Padraig Harrington, who shot a 7-under 65.
Furyk stretched his bogey-free run to 54 at the Gary Player
Country Club.
``I have been very patient, waited for my opportunities to be
aggressive, and then I have taken advantage,'' Furyk said.
The American promised more of the same in the final round Sunday.
``I don't have to shoot too much under par to win, so I am going
to do the same as I have been,'' Furyk said.
Harrington shot five consecutive birdies from No. 3 to No. 7, and
added two more at 9 and 13. He nearly added a birdie on 13, but his
eight-foot putt just missed.
``That stalled my run a bit,'' Harrington said.
One shot behind Harrington was Ernie Els, who had five birdies
and three bogeys for a 2-under 70. Henrik Stenson is tied with Els
for third.
Sergio Garcia turned his fortunes around with a 68 to climb to
even par, while Colin Montgomerie improved from opening rounds of 75
and 77 to finish with a 70.
Harrington said he would attack in the final round.
``There is not much point in playing safe so I am going to fire
at all the pins.''
