BMW Canada will be one of the major sponsors at the Canadian Open through 2009 after signing a three-year deal with the Royal Canadian Golf Association on Friday.
But the PGA Tour event is still without a title sponsor after Bell decided earlier this year to take a reduced role.
The agreement with BMW will include exclusive logo rights, on-site promotional initiatives, broadcast television advertising, vehicle use and displays plus corporate hospitality programming.
``We are delighted to have a world-renowned premium brand like BMW step up to support the Canadian Open,'' RCGA chief operating officer Rick Desrochers said in a statement.
``We look forward to partnering with them as Canada's national open championship enters an exciting new era on the PGA Tour.''
The PGA Tour announced earlier this year that the Canadian Open will be moved from September to July starting next year. Markham's Angus Glen will host the 2007 event from July 23 to 29.
