Quiros wins Dunhill Championship by one shot over Schwartzel

Alvaro Quiros shot a 5-under 67 Sunday to beat Charl Schwartzel by one stroke and win his first European Tour event at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

The Spaniard had seven birdies and two bogeys at Leopard Creek Country Club to finish at 13-under 275 overall.

``I had a lot of luck, so I have to be happy,'' said Quiros, who was playing in his fourth tour event. ``I don't know how to play conservatively, so I just went for it.''

Schwartzel, who had led going into the final round, shot a 72. Lee Westwood (73) was third at 279, followed by Ross Fisher (70) and Darren Fichardt (69) at 280.

Schwartzel went into the water on the par-5 18th while shooting for the green on his second shot. He made par, but it was one stroke too many for a playoff.

Ernie Els shot a second consecutive 69 despite four bogeys to finished tied for eighth at 282.
