Titans tight end Erron Kinney was placed on injured reserve Friday because of an ailing right knee and will be out for the season.
Kinney underwent a second knee operation after re-injuring his knee in training camp. He had a setback last week because of inflammation in the joint.
The Titans also signed long snapper Jon Dorenbos, who will handle those duties this weekend in Washington when Tennessee (0-5) visits the Redskins (2-3). Regular long snapper Ken Amato will not play because of a left thigh injury.
Dorenbos came to the Titans when Amato broke his leg last season and handled long snaps for the final nine games. He requested his release from the Titans in the off-season so he could look for a job elsewhere in the NFL.
Kinney was coming off a career-best 55 receptions a year ago for 543 yards. He had undergone knee surgery last December and missed two games last season, but returned to finish the year.
The seven-year veteran hurt his left knee on the second day of training camp and had surgery July 31. He thought he might miss up to four weeks of the preseason and now is about to miss his sixth straight game.
