Steve McNair injured against Carolina Panthers

Ravens quarterback Steve McNair left Sunday's loss to Carolina with a concussion and a neck sprain, though tests showed no structural damage. Vince Young managed to play through an ankle sprain and lead the Titans to victory.

McNair got hurt when he was sacked by Mike Rucker and Chris Draft late in the first quarter of the Panthers' 23-21 victory. The Baltimore quarterback was slow to get up and, after a short delay, was taken to the locker room.

X-rays and a CT scan on his neck, and an MRI on his head were all negative. McNair, who was 2-for-4 for 4 yards and an interception before leaving, was replaced by Kyle Boller.

Young, making his third start, played much of the fourth quarter of a 25-22 win at Washington with a sprained left ankle, which he injured on a scramble. Still, he completed 13 of 25 passes for 161 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, easily his best day as a pro.

Washington's Mark Brunell had his toenail ripped off early in the second half and was limping badly on the sideline at one point, but never missed a down. Redskins cornerback Carlos Rogers broke his thumb.

The Houston Texans may have lost defensive tackle Seth Payne for the season after he tore a ligament in his right knee early in the fourth quarter of a 34-6 loss at Dallas. Two other Houston starters, safety Glenn Earl and offensive tackle Zach Wiegert, also left after being hurt.

Earl left with a strained neck, while Wiegert sprained his left knee. Neither injury was considered serious, coach Gary Kubiak said. Wiegert's replacement, Eric Winston, dislocated his finger but played through the injury.

New Orleans got a momentary scare when leading rusher Deuce McAllister was sidelined briefly with an apparent right hamstring pull. McAllister left during the Saints' second offensive series and didn't return until late in the first half.

Buffalo receiver Roscoe Parrish left his team's 20-17 loss at Detroit with a hamstring injury, but not before he scored a second-quarter touchdown.

St. Louis fullback Madison Hedgecock has a broken thumb but continued to play in St. Louis' 30-28 loss to Seattle. Coach Scott Linehan not sure if he'll miss time.

John Abraham returned to Atlanta's defensive line after missing three games with a groin injury. He dominated early, but wasn't on the field in the fourth quarter after the injury tightened up. Two other linemen, Patrick Kerney and Rod Coleman, also went out with injuries late in the game.
