The Baltimore Ravens placed offensive guard Edwin Mulitalo on injured reserve Tuesday after surgery to repair his torn right triceps tendon, and signed offensive guard Ikechuku Ndukwe to their active roster.
The eight-year starter tore his right triceps during the third quarter of last Sunday's 16-13 victory over the San Diego Chargers.
The six-foot-four 338-pound Ndukwe was on the Washington Redskins' practice squad after a stint last season with the New Orleans Saints' practice squad.
Jason Brown, last year's fourth-round draft pick from North Carolina, has replaced Mulitalo in the starting lineup at left guard. Brown has played in nine career games with just one start.
This is the first major injury to a starter this year for Baltimore (4-0).
