MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (CP) _ The Toronto Argonauts added veteran
savvy to their defensive secondary by signing veteran NFL safety
Tony Dorsett Jr. on Friday.
The five-foot-11, 205-pound Dorsett is the son of former NFL star
Tony Dorsett.
The younger Dorsett spent eight seasons in the NFL before leaving
football in 2004 to grow his commercial and residential development
business. Tony Dorsett Jr., 33, played for both the Tennessee Titans
and Oakland Raiders from 1996 to 2003, appearing in the Titans'
23-16 loss to the St. Louis Rams in the 2000 Super Bowl.
Tony Dorsett spent 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys after
winning the Heisman Trophy. He rushed for more than 12,000 career
yards and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Like his father, the younger Dorsett played his college football
at the University of Pittsburgh.
