EDMONTON (CP) _ The Edmonton Eskimos signed import offensive lineman Damion Cook on Tuesday. The six-foot-four, 325-pounder spent last season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, starting 10 games. Cook, 28, signed as an undrafted free agent out of college with the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. They moved him from defensive line to offensive line during training camp. He also spent time in the NFL with Baltimore, Chicago, Miami and Cleveland.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed import kicker Nick Setta on Tuesday and expect him to challenge incumbent Jamie Boreham. Setta, a 25-year-old from Lockport, Ill., completed 46-of-66 field-goal attempts during a four-year collegiate career at Notre Dame. Setta also handled the punting duties in his final year. ``Nick is capable of handling all kicking duties _ field goals, punting and kickoffs _ at a very high level,'' general manager Marcel Desjardins ...

The B.C. Lions finally put the Hamilton Tiger-Cats out of their misery Saturday night. Defensive back Mark Washington returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and quarterback Dave Dickenson looked sharp playing 30 minutes as the Lions defeated the Tiger-Cats 23-17 in Hamilton's final game of the CFL season. As planned, Dickenson played the game's second half. It was his first appearance since being pulled from a Sept. 24 game in Regina. He had missed the previous ...

It's one win down, two more to go as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hope a winning streak down the stretch can help them host a CFL East Division playoff game. They know it's a long shot. Coming into Hamilton this week, Winnipeg needed to win the final three games of the regular season, while hoping either Montreal or Toronto falter. With a 29-22 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday ...

B.C. Lions head coach Wally Buono says he doesn't call them the back-up quarterbacks - they're ``the next guys up.'' So with the team's usual starter Dave Dickenson out with symptoms of post-concussion syndrome, the next guys up on this playoff-bound team were Buck Pierce and Jarious Jackson. Normally second and third-string quarterbacks, they combined for four touchdowns, and engineered a convincing 28-8 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday. ...

B.C. Lions quarterbacks Buck Pierce and Jarious Jackson combined for four touchdowns as the Lions clinched a playoff spot with a 28-8 road win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Saturday. The win was B.C.'s eighth in nine games, sending the Lions (10-4) to the post-season for the 10th straight year. Hamilton's loss, in front of a soaking wet home crowd of 24,163 at Ivor Wynne Stadium, eliminated the Ticats (4-12) from ...

Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Jason Maas was named the CFL's offensive player of the week Wednesday after leading his team to its fourth win of the season. B.C. Lions linebacker Otis Floyd took the defensive player honours, teammate Tyrone Williams claimed the lineman award while kicker Sandro DeAngelis of the Calgary Stampeders bagged the special teams prize. Maas, in what was probably his best performance of the season, completed 26-of-39 passes ...

Jamie Borehams kicked a field goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation to complete Hamilton's comeback as the Ticats beat the Edmonton Eskimos 20-18 on Friday night. The Eskimos (4-9), in jeopardy of missing the playoffs for the first time in 34 years, lost both halves of the crucial home and home series with the Ticats (4-11), also falling 27-22 last week in Hamilton. After starting the second half tied ...

Hamilton Tiger-Cats' GM Marcel Desjardins took much of the mystery and intrigue out of the CFL's trade deadline. The biggest question leading up to deadline, which was set to pass at 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, was exactly where talented running back Corey Holmes would end up. Holmes was the CFL's top special-teams player and a finalist for the league's outstanding player award last season but was in the final ...

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will have Corey Holmes in the lineup for a few more seasons. The CFL team re-signed the import running back to a three-year contract Monday. Holmes, who was runner-up for the CFL's outstanding player award last season, has run for 369 yards on 64 carries and one touchdown in 10 games this season, and caught 33 passes for 263 yards. ``Corey is one of the most exciting ...
