Running back Troy Davis, who rushed for 189 yards in a losing cause for the Edmonton Eskimos, was named the CFL's offensive player of the week Wednesday.
Davis had 22 carries and four catches for 20 yards in Edmonton's 28-23 road loss to the Toronto Argonauts on Monday. The Argos clinched a playoff berth with the victory.
B.C. Lions slotback Geroy Simon was a finalist for the award.
Cornerback Davis Sanchez led a Montreal Alouettes sweep of the remaining three honours.
Sanchez was named the defensive player of the week. Sanchez had two tackles and a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown in Montreal's 35-8 home win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders that clinched a playoff berth for the Alouettes.
Alouettes linebacker and Toronto cornerback Jordan Younger also received consideration.
Montreal defensive end Anwar Stewart was the top lineman. Stewart had two sacks, a tackle and knocked down a pass in the Alouettes' win over the Roughriders.
Toronto defensive end Riall Johnson was a finalist.
Montreal running back Eric Lapointe was named the top special-teams player. Lapointe had four tackles covering kicks, a season-high for the Alouettes.
Also receiving consideration were Calgary kick-returner J.R. Ruffin, Montreal defensive back Chip Cox and Toronto kick-returner Bashir Levingston.
