Tom Higgins has some interesting feelings about instant replay

The Calgary Stampeders head coach admits he has never been a fan of replay because it can really bog games down. However, he gives the CFL a firm thumbs-up for its implementation of replay this year adding, ``I want the officials to get the play right.''

However, Higgins says he has noticed some CFL coaches abusing their right to throw a replay flag on the field, looking more to give their team time to catch its breath in times of trouble than actually having a beef with an on-field call.

``You can throw a flag anytime you want to slow the play down and have the referee come on over and tell you it's not reviewable and you already know that,'' Higgins said recently. ``These are things we're going to have to iron out for next year.

``I haven't taken enough liberties with the yellow flag. You know what? It might come down to that. I can see some playoff games. We're going to say `Ah, a little bit of an advantage here. Let's the throw the flag out and talk to the referee.'''
