Authorities search Swiss home of cyclist Jan Ullrich in wake of doping probe

The Swiss residence of cyclist Jan Ullrich and nine other homes and offices of people suspected of involvement in the Spanish doping scandal were searched on Wednesday.

A statement by Germany's Federal Crime Office did not give any names. But Ullrich's manager, Wolfgang Strohband, confirmed that his and his client's homes were raided.

The raids _ both in Germany and abroad _ were part of the fraud investigation by Bonn prosecutors in connection with the doping scandal.

German federal agents were also present during the searches abroad, the statement said.

The German criminal investigation is being conducted by the Bonn state prosecutor's office.
