ALMENDRALEJO, Spain (AP) _ German rider Erik Zabel won the fourth stage of the Vuelta on Tuesday in a sprint finish, while Norway's Thor Hushovd retained the overall lead.
Zabel, of the Milgran team, finished in three hours 24 minutes 45 seconds. Hushovd, of Credit Agricole, finished in the leading pack with Frenchman Jean Patrick Nazon.
The route covered 135 kilometres from Almendralejo to Caceres in the southwest Extremadura region.
