KING CITY, Ont. (CP) _ John Davison had 62 runs not out to lead
Canada to a 10-wicket win over the U.S. Saturday in a World Cricket
League Americas division one match.
Canada scored 119 runs for zero wickets, while the Americans
countered with 116 all-out.
With the Canadian win, Bermuda captured first place in the
tournament, whereas a U.S. win would have given the Americans the
title.
Canada's Sandeep Jyoti added 44 runs not out to help pace the
Canadian batting. The Jyoti-Davison partnership combined to leave
Canada on solid footing 104 runs for the loss of no wickets. Only
eight balls after lunch were needed to seal the victory.
The win comes a day after Canada beat Argentina by nine wickets
in a rain-interrupted match.
Canada next sees action in South Africa in November for a
Tri-Nations one-day international series with Bermuda and
Netherlands.
