Lucian Bute's next ring opponent will be James Obede Toney on Sept. 15

Lucian Bute, the WBO Intercontinental super-middleweight boxing champion, will take on James Obede Toney on Sept. 15.

Bute, whose record is 17-0, will be up against an opponent whose 18-1-1 record includes 16 knockouts. Toney is a native of Ghana but now lives in the U.S. and fights for the Don King group.

Bute, a Romanian who has fought out of Montreal since 2003, won the super-middleweight title last May when he scored a unanimous win against Lolenga Mock of Denmark.
