SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ Spurs guard Tony Parker will miss four to six weeks but
won't have surgery on the right index finger he broke playing for France in
preparation for the world championship.
Parker injured the finger in a tuneup game against Brazil last week and was
evaluated by the Spurs medical staff Monday.
The Spurs open a 10-day training camp in Parker's home country in about six
weeks. A team official said it was uncertain whether Parker would be cleared to
play by then. The Spurs play their first pre-season game Oct. 5 in France and
open the regular season Nov. 2 at Dallas.
France has won twice at the world championship since losing its opener to
Olympic gold medallist Argentina.
