Mike Bibby scored 19 points, eight during a 26-8 run to open the third quarter as the Sacramento Kings went on to a 111-90 pre-season victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.
Ron Artest added 13 points and six rebounds for the Kings in their exhibition opener.
Josh Howard and rookie Maurice Ager each had 14 points for the Mavericks (0-2).
Dallas shot 39.7 per cent from the field and committed 22 turnovers against the pressure defence being implemented by new Sacramento coach Eric Musselman.
Mavericks stars Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse did not play.
Sacramento opened the game with nine straight points and led 25-18 after the first quarter. The Kings were in front 49-41 at halftime.
Bibby hit two three-pointers to fuel Sacramento's 26-8 spurt, helping the Kings build a 75-49 lead. Bibby converted all four three-pointers he attempted.
Sacramento held an 83-63 lead after three quarters, and the Kings were in command by as many as 32 points in the fourth quarter as both teams cleared their benches.
Dallas guard Greg Buckner left the game in the first quarter with a sprained left knee. He's listed as day-to-day.
