Jamal Crawford hit a 21-foot jumper from the
top of the key with 1.3 seconds left to give the New York Knicks a
102-100 exhibition victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday
night.
The 76ers' Kyle Korver missed a three-point attempt at the
buzzer.
Crawford scored 21 points, including 18 in the second half, while
Eddy Curry had 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The Knicks improved to 2-0 in the pre-season under new coach
Isiah Thomas. They opened exhibition play Friday night at home with
a win over New Jersey.
Korver scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half. Andre
Iguodala added 21 points for Philadelphia (1-1), which returned late
Thursday afternoon from a 13-day, 14,320-kilometre pre-season trip
to Europe. Allen Iverson played only 24 minutes for the Sixers,
scoring 12 points and finishing with eight assists.
Philadelphia took a 100-97 lead on a jumper by Korver with 51
seconds remaining. But Crawford completed a three-point play to tie
the score at 100 with 46 seconds remaining.
After Philadelphia turned the ball over on an offensive foul with
14 seconds to play, New York ran the clock down until Crawford hit
the winner.
Montreal's Samuel Dalembert (hamstring) and Chris Webber (flu)
didn't play for Philadelphia.
Steve Francis (right knee), Jared Jeffries (left wrist), Jerome
James (right foot) and Malik Rose (right hamstring) sat out for New
York.
