The Boston Celtics acquired swingman Luke Jackson, the 10th pick in the 2004 draft, from the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday for centre Dwayne Jones.
In two seasons since leaving Oregon, the six-foot-seven Jackson has averaged 2.7 points and 7.8 minutes in 46 games. He missed 32 games last season with a broken left wrist.
Jones averaged one point and 2.2 rebounds in 6.2 minutes in 14 games for Boston as a rookie last season. He signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent out of Saint Joseph's and was traded in a deal that also brought forward Wally Szczerbiak to the Celtics.
Boston also received an undisclosed amount of cash as part of the deal for Jackson.
