seconds left in overtime to give the Atlanta Hawks a 90-88
pre-season victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
Cavaliers forward LeBron James had a chance to win it in
regulation, but his shot in the lane fell short. He claimed he was
fouled, but there was no whistle.
James led all scorers with 21 points, seven rebounds and six

100-96 in a pre-season game Tuesday night.
Johnson hit a short jumper with 3:40 left to give Atlanta its
first lead since the second quarter, and extended it to 88-83 the
next trip down with a three-pointer from the wing.
It was Orlando's first pre-season loss after winning three

Grizzlies forward Kimani Ffriend were each suspended Friday for a
game after both players threw a punch during a shoving match earlier
this week.
Wright and Ffriend were both ejected from Wednesday night's
pre-season game in the third quarter after they got into a fight
under the Grizzlies' basket.
Each player will serve his suspension during the first

The Atlanta Hawks announced Friday they had signed six free agents to their training camp roster, including Lionel Chalmers, a former second-round pick of the Los Angeles Clippers who played 36 regular-season games two years ago and averaged 3.1 points.

Atlanta Hawks guard Speedy Claxton is questionable for the beginning of the NBA season after breaking a bone in his left hand.
Claxton, who was injured during a workout Monday, was examined Thursday by Dr. Michael Bernot, a team physician, and will see hand specialist Dr. Stephen McCollam on Friday.

Lorenzen Wright signed a two-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, giving the team more depth at centre.
Wright, who signed for about $3 million US per year, averaged 5.8 points and 6.9 rebounds with the Memphis Grizzlies last season. The 10-year veteran returns to the Hawks, having played for the team from 1999-2001.
