Infielder-outfielder Greg Norton and
the Tampa Bay Devil Rays agreed Friday to terms on a one-year
contract with a club option for a second season.
Norton hit .296 and 17 homers _ both career highs _ for Tampa Bay
this season. The 34-year-old hit .302 with 13 homers after the
all-star break, finishing with 45 RBIs in 98 games.
A .252 career hitter, Norton's 10 pinch-hit home runs since 2001
rank second-most among major leaguers.
