Josh Barfield, the San Diego Padres' rookie second baseman, has already tied his father, Jesse, in playoff appearances.
``I think he's more excited than me, because he realizes how hard it is to get here,'' Josh Barfield said about his father, a former AL home run champion whose only post-season appearance was with Toronto in the 1985 AL championship series, which the Blue Jays lost to Kansas City.
Jesse Barfield was traded to the New York Yankees in 1989, well before the Blue Jays won World Series titles in 1992-93.
``Oh, don't let me get a ring, either, or he'll never hear the end of it,'' said Josh Barfield, who hit .280 with 13 homers and 58 RBIs for the NL West champion Padres.
