Spilled coffee gets Milton Bradley, Athletics's hot in the dugout

Oakland outfielder Milton Bradley found himself in hot water _ or hot coffee, more accurately _ after a mishap in the Athletics' dugout during Game 2 of the playoffs Wednesday.

Television cameras caught Bradley being separated from an Athletics coach in the fourth inning after accidentally spilling some coffee on starter Esteban Loaiza.

``It was an accident. Milton Bradley came into the dugout, threw his batting gloves up, hit the coffee and it landed on me,'' Loaiza said. ``It's baseball.

``Like I always said, 'You never know what's going to happen in the game. You never know what's going to happen in the dugout.'''

Bradley didn't speak about the matter after the Athletics' 5-2 win, but A's manager Ken Macha said he wasn't worried.

``There is a tremendous amount of intensity on our bench,'' Macha said. ``I have no problem with any of that.''

Bradley has a history of problem behaviour. He was ejected twice this year for arguing with umpires and was ordered to undergo anger management counselling in 2004 after being suspended for charging a fan who threw a bottle at him.

``It was an accident and it didn't bother me,'' Loaiza said. ``I told some of the guys to get my other uniform down there and got changed and went back out there. My whole back was wet and part of my leg.''
