Mets outfielder Cliff Floyd, slowed by an
injured Achilles' tendon, came out of Saturday night's NL division
playoff game after scoring from first on Shawn Green's double in the
third inning.
Endy Chavez replaced Floyd in left field in the bottom of the
inning.
Floyd singled with two outs in the third and scored when Green's
drive hit the top of the left field fence over a leaping Marlon
Anderson, giving the Mets a 4-0 lead over the Dodgers. New York
entered with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
Floyd singled to drive in a run in the first, when the Mets hit
five straight two-out singles off Greg Maddux for a 3-0 lead.
