Minnesota Twins reliever Dennys Reyes left
Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox in the seventh inning
after being hit in the left foot by Rob Mackowiak's comebacker.
Reyes, the Twins top left-hander out of the bullpen this season,
entered in the sixth in relief of starter Carlos Silva. Reyes walked
A.J. Pierzynski and then got Alex Cintron to ground into a double
play to end the inning.
Mackowiak led off the seventh with a hard-hit ball up the middle
that glanced off Reyes' foot. After being attended to by trainers,
Reyes walked off the field under his own power with the Twins
leading 5-1.
Juan Rincon was brought on in relief.
Reyes came into the game 5-0 with a 0.90 ERA in 65 appearances
this season.
