Brewers beat Giants 10 8

Barry Bonds hit his 734th career home run to break Hank Aaron's NL record, but the Milwaukee Brewers rallied past San Francisco 10-8 Saturday night for their third consecutive win over the struggling Giants.

Bonds hit a solo shot off Chris Capuano over the right-centre fence in the third inning, just out of the reach of outfielders Brady Clark and Corey Hart.

Bonds, who hit No. 733 and drove in a season-high six runs Friday night, is 21 homers shy of Aaron's career mark of 755. It was Bonds' 26th home run this season _ and again it came in the same city where Aaron started and ended his major league career.

The Brewers scored twice in the eighth to break an 8-all tie and win their fourth straight game overall. Tony Graffanino singled with one out and stole second. Prince Fielder struck out, but Bill Hall lined an RBI double down the right-field line.

Corey Hart then hit a soft fly to right-fielder Moises Alou, who dropped it for a two-base error that allowed Hall to score.

The loss was the seventh in eight games for the fading Giants, who have been outscored 88-48 during those eight games.

Jack Taschner (0-1) took the loss. Noah Lowry went five innings for Giants despite giving up five runs in the first, when the Brewers sent 10 batters to the plate.

Jose Capellan (4-2) pitched a perfect eighth for the win and Francisco Cordero worked a scoreless ninth to convert his 15th save 15 chances with Milwaukee. Capuano lasted 5 1-3 innings, giving up seven runs and 11 hits.

Alou had a home run and two doubles.

San Francisco, which trailed 6-1 after two innings, came back to grab the lead in the sixth on Randy Winn's RBI double, his third double of the game, and Omar Vizquel's RBI single to make it 7-6.

Eliezer Alfonzo's RBI groundout in the seventh increased the lead to 8-6.

But in the bottom half, David Bell knocked in a run with a fielder's choice and scored on a wild pitch by Taschner to tie it at 8.

Notes: Capuano made a diving catch of a bunt attempt by Vizquel in the first inning. The pitcher was shaken up on the play, but remained in the game. ... Giants C Todd Greene left in the third with a bruised thigh after being hit by a foul ball. ... San Francisco 2B Ray Durham left in the sixth after fouling a ball off his knee.
