Law officers and museum officials are looking for a bronze bust of former Kansas City Royals third baseman George Brett that is missing from the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
The bust stood outside the Springfield museum as part of a ``legends walkway'' with about 15 other busts of athletes and three full-size statues, museum operations director Marty Willadsen said Thursday.
``We noticed it missing (Wednesday) so we think it was probably taken Tuesday or Monday evening,'' Willadsen said.
The museum called the Greene County Sheriff's Department, which assigned a detective to investigate. Willadsen said the museum is not yet offering a reward for the return of the bust valued at $10,000 to US$15,000.
While the bust is heavy, it wasn't too heavy for someone to carry away, he said.
